Jardin Majorelle, Marrakech, Morocco - February 2025
A visit to one of Marrakech’s most famous gardens.
“The Majorelle Garden is a one-hectare botanical garden and artist's landscape garden in Marrakesh, Morocco. It was created by the French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle over almost forty years, starting in 1923, and features a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s.”
I was fortunate to attend a painting course run by Easel & Lens, a company that runs Art and Photography holidays across the world. It was via this course that the opportunity arose to visit this fabulous garden. Being February the light was still bearable in the early afternoon, and the heat was just about right. The famous cobalt ‘Majorelle Blue’ was evident in pockets amongst the incredible greenery. It was quite a magnificent place to behold, and I’m looking forward to receiving my scans back from my Hasselblad which I took along too.
