About
Sophie has run a successful photography business since 2012. Having graduated in Fine Art from Kingston University, her photography journey started out in the garden, in 2009, capturing macros of botanicals. She then went on to travel and teach photography in Italy where she sought out nurseries in Tuscany to broaden her love and knowledge of plants and details.
It was there in Tuscany that she fell in love with the incredible light, that only Italy seems to experience. Sophie’s long interest in Art History which began at A Level, progressed into an obsession with artists such as Caravaggio and his use of painterly light, and chiaroscuro. Ever since then she has tried to tell a story with each of her photographs, whether she is capturing people, churches, gardens, or individual plants.
Trained in Garden Design after attending the London College of Garden Design at Kew Gardens, Sophie has realised her passion lies in not only creating beautiful spaces but capturing them too. She hopes to continue photography alongside her studies and future career as a garden designer.
